She carried with her a legacy of hurt and pain derived from the loss of her father and a string of male actors who often left her mother brokenhearted. So it was no surprise when Valentina’s sister’s new co-star the hot and sexy Smith Sullivan arrived on the scene that she built an iron cage around her heart. Going after him in protection of her sister, she is surprised to learn that he doesn’t want her sister. He only wants Valentina to come a little bit closer.

Smith was used to getting everything he wanted in life; whether as a result of his stardom, fortune, good looks, or sheer determination he had been denied nothing. So when his new co-star’s sister/business manager Valentina consistently thwarts his efforts to get to know her he is left more than a little confused. Smith always wondered if he would meet that special someone; someone who loved him for him, who saw beyond his money and fame; someone who knew and loved the man behind the stardom. And now that he has found that woman that has him desiring to open up to her with his mind, body, heart and soul and allow her to become a permanent fixture in his life she appears not to want the same. And it’s up to Smith to draw on more than his acting skills in the role of his life as he must convince the strong, silent business woman that is Valentina to give him one shot as the leading man in her life.

Bella Andre in the final book of this series takes a bold risk by telling a story within a story. Readers get to draw closer to the Sullivan family as well as the Landon family to learn about the history behind Valentina’s resentment towards actors. While we also catch a glimpse of the story that Smith is working on with is his co-star Tatiana, Valentina’s younger sister. “Come A Little Bit Closer” speaks to the heart of readers, provides an inside glimpse of the struggle stars endure in attempting to build a personal life and maintain their privacy. I have loved and enjoyed reading all 7 of the books, yet this one had my heart soaring as I was able to read not only Smith and Valentina’s story, but also see the culmination of the other Sullivan siblings and left hanging, wanting more as we get a glimpse of Lori’s story. Once again Ms. Andre does not fail to disappoint her readers.
